Vintage Green Golden Nugget Playing Cards Pack 52 Cards 2 Jokers Box Casino Used

Description

Offered is this vintage pack of playing cards, manufactured by the United States Playing Card Company (USPCC) for the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas, NV. The ace of spades has a date of manufacturer code of "D" which indicates that the deck was printed and boxed in 1962, or 1982, or 2002, and I believe it was 1982, nearly 40 years ago.
As a collector of casino playing cards, I can tell that this pack was only "casino-used", meaning that once opened for play, it was used for a single shift and retired. From there, the casino (Golden Nugget) had the deck canceled by clipping a single corner. Clipping was done to all 52 cards, yet the 2 included Jokers were not clipped and remain pristine. In those days, casinos often contracted with a nearby prison (Yes! a prison) for inmate work to count and sort the decks and clip the corner with a paper shear. The deck would then be re-packed, closed and a special, gold foil sticker, depicting the casino name (Golden Nugget, in this case) to fully secure the tuck-flap closed. The decks were then returned to the casino for giftshop sales and also handout to regular players asking for a souvenir deck.
In this instance, I do not know where this deck has been stored, unused, for all these years, but apparently, it was a cool and dark place, because this deck is not warped, nor showing ink fading on the box. I have carefully opened the pack, taking care to not damage the foil sticker, and when opening the tuck flap and tabs, they remain stiff, indicating that they have only been opened a few times. Probably when first opened at the casino and then re-opened for filling at the prison.
Please note: I opened the deck to verify the quantity and accuracy of the cards, as it was not unusual for sloppy work at the prison, during the sorting process. I assure you that all 52 cards are present, along with 2 Jokers.
