Online searches will confirm that these are some of the rarest and most desirable decks in existence.
All of these are the real thing with no copies, reproductions or tribute packs, each factory sealed and in the original cellophane.
Deck One may be the most unusual of the collection: a sealed deck of Ricky Jay Plays Poker playing cards. These decks, manufactured by the USPC with classic Bicycle faces and custom bordered backs, were printed on Bee stock especially for Mr. Jay. One deck was included with each deluxe set of the Grammy nominated Ricky Jay Plays Poker boxed set. The original sets were sold out years ago and none of these decks were ever available individually.
Deck Two is one of the most desirable of all original Casino decks: The green back Golden Nuggets is printed with metallic inks and is commonly referred to as a “Type 5” or “Hotel and Casino” style. These were printed by USPC in the 1980’s on Bee stock and are sealed with a white Bee strip on the original cellophane. A pair of these decks is currently offered on ebay for 1,295.00.
Deck Three is the gold standard of desirability, the original Jerry’s Nugget deck. This original deck was purchased at the casino in the 1980’s and has been in our collection ever since. Printed by USPC, factory sealed with blue backs and original cellophane, the Jerry’s Nugget Playing Cards are the cornerstone of every serious collection. A deck of similar quality is currently offered on ebay for over 0.00.
Deck Four is the true unicorn of modern card collecting: The David Blaine Create Magic Deck, designed and printed especially for the 2014 Microsoft intern event in Silicon Valley. Only 2,014 decks were printed by USPC and one deck was given to each of the 2,000 interns in attendance. Sealed and with original cellophane, an identical deck sold on ebay for ,000 in the last week.
The current market value of these decks is well in excess of the asking price, but isn’t that what the Holidays are all about?
